PowerPoint 2010 - Add Title or Subtitle PlaceHolders

Okay, I've found how to get to the Slide Master, and change layouts, but I'm looking to add a title or subtitle placeholder to an existing slide where I deleted it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of accomplishing this task?

The default slides in PowerPoint have a Title box, where it says "click to add text", and a Subtitle box that says the same thing. Well, I went and deleted those on some slides, thinking I wouldn't need them, but now I've changed my mind. I could just create blank new slides, copy/paste/edit, but figured surely there is a way to add the title/subtitle objects back since I could delete them.

I'd just add a slide containing those placeholders, add my title & subtitle, COPY those boxes & then PASTE into whatever slides I needed to.

FYI - for anyone who reads this, and gets into the "Slide Master" and has no clue how to get back to the actual slides, there is a big red X box in the ribbon, on the Slide Master Tab while there that says "Close Master View" - so if you go to a different tab, you may feel like you're trapped in the Master slide setup, like I almost did.

For the time being, I just fixed it with the old Copy/Paste thing. What I'd really like to figure out how to do is convert an existing (non "Place Holder") object to a Place Holder object. Maybe I'm expecting PowerPoint to work like Visio in that regard, b/c it seems I remember Visio will allow you to change the object types.

At least in older pp (2003) you can choose slide layout, whatever the template is. When you click the desired layout, powerpoint add placeholders accordingly,

Hmm... cool... I wonder if that still works. I might as well give it a shot, won't hurt anything. I can save before, then if it does mess something up, close without saving.

Well, so far, I didn't see any differences. Of course, I may be looking in the wrong spots. Anyway, I'm still learning on this one - have used off and on over the years, but may get into it a lot deeper than previously expected due to a current ongoing/regular project I have.
