Powerpoint 2007 weird text box issue...driving me crazy

I have powerpoint 2007 with all updates/service packs.

This does not happen always but sometimes and it's driving me crazy. When I create a text box and start typing the font is at the correct size. After a few words or if I hit the space bar, the font will change to a very large font.

Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas how to fix?

It seems like installing sp2 fixed it for a while but it's happening again.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Is it that you don't like the font "autofit title text to placeholder" and "autofit body text to placeholder"?

If so, untick the checkboxes:

PowerPoint Options > Proofing category
AutoCorrect Options button
AutoFormat as You Type tab
bottom couple of checkboxes

PowerPoint thinks it knows best and is constantly changing font sizes to "best" fill the space available with the words in the space.

If there is a way to turn it off I've never found it.
