Has anyone done on upgrade to Transformer (rsserver) on a Unix box? I'm not a real big expert on installing software on Unix. I managed to install Transformer on a Unix box and get it to work and test the results against the production box. The results look good. However, that test box did not have a previous version of Transformer on it. When it comes time to upgrade the production box what steps need to be done? Will the installation automatically get rid of the previous version of Transformer? Anyone know? Thanks in advance...

Hiya,

It should install to a different path, we upgraded from Series6 to Series7 and ran both versions concurrently for a while.

Our series6 files were installed under:
/sware/cognos/cer2
We installed series7 into:
/sware/cognos/cer3

Of course, you can only run one version of powergrid at a time, and you will need to run the configuration script to setup your new installation.

If you save your models as .PYI files, you may need to retrieve them from the server, update them, and submit them back to the new version. I dont know if you can just copy them over or pick the same models up with a newer version.

Good Luck!
Tim.
