Hello,

I just read a quote from a vendor report saying:

"PowerPlay can serve data not only from OLAP servers such as .... , but also directly relational data sources"

Can someone tell me if this is true. If it's true, then do I need to buy PowerPlay and Impromptu for my users?

Thanks,

Richard

Impromptu allows you to run reports directly off your database. Powerplay is for viewing Cubes and I have never heard of powerlay connecting directly to a relational data sources.

If you are intenting to build data cubes you will need Impromptu, Transformer and Powerplay.

If you just want to run reports off you database just use Impromptu.

Hope this helps
