PowerEdge 600SC does not recognize CD-RW

I installed a Sony CDR/RW CRX216E on this server but when it's connected the server does not recognize that it's a CDR/RW although it knows it's a CD Drive. Do I need a specific CR-RW model to install on this server or do I need to reconfigure the BIOS or install a specific software?

Is the drive visible within the Operating System? Have you installed CD burning software?

Good call. The only Microsoft Operating System to natively support CD burning is XP.

I ran into this on a PE-600 SC as well. Installing the driver software that came with the burner took care of the issue.
