I have a PowerEdge 4400 that used to have 4x 36GB drives in a RAID-5 array. I replace all of them, one by one, with 73GB drives. The RAID was rebuilt after each disk was replaced but obviously only used 36GB of each disk. I now need to increase the size of the volume without having to backup/restore the data. I have seen the "Reconfigure" option with Array Manager and it looks like it will do what I want - will this do this? Or will it delete the volumes and I'll have to restore the data from a back up? I'm really hoping that the Reconfigure option will do this because restoring will be a real pain! Any ideas?

Download the extpart.exe utility from the Dell support web site.
This will extend the partition quite painlessly from a DOS prompt.
