A client of mine has a Poweredge 2400 server, currently running NT4.
This provides a decent speed.
Hardware config:
1Gb Ram. Dell Perc2 S/i raid array.
Intel Pro 100+ Server network adapter.
I have installed Win2K on a seperate partition - just in case something when wrong - I could always revert to NT4. Good job I did that...
Anyhow - the install went smoothly, got all the latest patches and drivers for everything (as far as I am aware). But the performance of the network is now very poor. I am not sure if it is the network card, or the raid array or something else. Suggestions please.
The network runs DHCP - but the DHCP server is provided by a router. The Server is provided with a static IP address.
SOme of the PCs also have static IP addresses. All systems have seen a marked degredation in network performance (approx 20x slower) - and occasionally workstations lose the connection to the server completly.
Suggestions please!
