I'm new to pc COBOL, and I'm struggling with how to use the Excel object library that comes with MS Office. I think I have to somehow declare the "Excel9.olb" as a COM object to be able to reference it, but I need some help. I'm using PowerCobol version 7.

Look at faq209-5616 as soon as it is accepted by the management. The sample uses COM to access Excel as a separate process.

If you with to use it as a control inside your form you can't unless you use Microsoft Web Components. Not sure which version they started being supplied, but they are available with both 2000 and 2003.
