yeah. i checked that site out but it only has the winsock non-visual. no sample code. i need a little more than that at this point. i have dropped the visual microsoft winsock control onto a window and connected it successfully, but the data_arrival event is not firing. any suggestions?

correction. i have downloaded the zip file and taken a look at the sample code. however, when i try to connect to a server on port 23, the telnet port, all i get back is a square. what am i missing?
