The doc. says 9v "dc".

8vdc is the recommended power supply. 9vdc will work, but it will eventually cause damage to the CallPilot power circuits. 8.5vdc will likely work, but no guarantees on how long before it eventually causes damage to the CP. Could be years, could be months.
