We have this S48 which is being used which started giving the following error message a couple times a day after the server rack was moved across the server. We notified the team that maintains the servers in that rack, that we may need to replace, but we need an outage window. Time dragged on a month later still recieving the messages. So they are performing maintenance and I request that we move the power cable from the power bar it was currently in to another one during this maintenance window. Which they do, still get a few more messages then it goes away. Apparently no one did anything. Does the power supply on a S48 detect brown outs in power and could report errors after the issue has been correct? We have a 50KVA UPS that conditions the power, so it's not our draw from city power.

messages received after moving power cable on the 22cd.
03/23/2009 11:25.28 <WARN:SYST> Power Supply has recovered from failure
03/23/2009 11:23.57 <WARN:SYST> Power Supply is indicating failure

thanks

this annoying message could indicate a possible
problem in the hardware but should not affect the working of the switch
try defaulting the switch/clear the logs etc(save your configs first)
otherwise,it will need looking at by a technican
