Last Christmas('01)I bought my 2 children an HP 640 inkjet color printer. They are barely ever used. The power supply on my daughter's printer has burned out twice now (so the first time was not a fluke). These power supplies appear to be unique to HP (24v output) and do not come cheap.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

Probably time to look for another type of power suppy. Volts are volts and amps are amps but you may have to splice the output wire to the old wire. Ed Fair

It may be time to look at the electrical service in your area, or in your house. You may be suffering brown-outs from power coming in off the street which would blow it out. You may have a faulty plug or circuit that the printers on. Or you may even have an issue with the electrical in the house. Do lights dim when you turn things on? Do the lights ever dim from time to time? All tell-tale signs.
