Hi There:
I know, I know.. why is some nortel phone tech trying to adventure out in the avaya and lucent world.. well, I really need your help. I was assigned a service ticket for tomorrow AM - Working on a Partner system, the power unit (LUCENT 391C1) is not powering on. Checked the electrical cable - it works fine; A prior tech was on site and ordered a new power unit, it arrived and that tech put it in and nothing happened -- no power. Hard to believe that 2 are bad. Anyhow, I am assigned to the ticket now, and need to figure this out. The cord is good - when plugged into the power unit (while not in the KSU) no lights come in -- they are both acting the same way. My questions:
1. Does the Power source need to be plugged into the backbone of the KSU in order for it to recognize the AC power???
2. If not, then should the green power indicator come on if plugged into the outlet while outside of the KSU
3. (YES THIS IS THE LAST ONE) - What other issues besides a bad power unit would cause this problem (i.e. is the backboard that the card plugs into bad? or would that effect the individual standalone power unit?
Thanks so much for your help.
