Power Shutdown

Our building is cutting off the power for as many as 6 hours. Battery back-up won't last that long. We have Norstar Voice Mail 4.0. I know how to back it up onto floppy (yes, floppy), but how do I prepare the system for a power down?

unplug it and leave it unplugged until the power is back completely so you don't get any power spikes that might kill your equipment.
phone systems are good with being unplugged but they don't like being interrupted while booting. Voicemails with a harddrive are even more susceptible to interrupted bootups.

the nam should be shut down in the f915 section
if you know a power fail is going to happen

as westi said both should be down until power is stable
