Running WinXP Home with SP2. I have Power Scheme set to Hibernate when I press the sleep button.
Turn off HD = Never. Same for monitor.

The settings change by themselves to Standby instead of Hibernate.
Also Turn off Monitor = 15 minutes, Hard disk off = 1 hour

I've looked in Event log and found nothing. Have tried to disable screen saver but it didn't help.

My original setting may hold for an hour, two weeks or anything in between.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
David

Some manufacturer's have "utilities" that think they know better, and can change the Windows power setting options.

Look through all the crap that runs when you startup.
