Anybody know of a template for setting workstation Power Options? I can't seem to find one anywhere... Workstations are XPpro sp2.

Thanks.

Yeah, found that but it requires an agent running on the workstation, which I hesitate to do.

Is there anything else available?

No if you read the link it explains why GPO can't be used to set power options on XP stations that is why energy star produced the app. There are probably third party tools and maybe SMS can do it but they will cost, or you can move to Vista but again that's quite a cost :)

We're just about to start trialling the energy star product as it's supposed to be quite effective.

Do you know the name of any of these 3rd party tools?

Yep EZGPO in the link above, there is no way to manage these features without an installed agent MS don't provide an API for it as far as i know.

I was just wondering if you knew of another product, no need to get testy.

I'm not being testy i'm just pointing out that the other third party tools will need an agent which you specifically said you didn't want.

It might be worth trying ExGPO on a few test PC's it seems to work very well and the agent has a tiny footprint.
