I have 'inherited' an EDI solution from a colleague who has now left. It uses TrustedLink and Power.Map! and I am struggling with a problem in a map.

Does anyone in the UK do training, or is there anyone who has knowledge of these products, or has any material from training courses?

I gather the company has been taken over by Inovis and both products are now superceded by newer products. Can anyone comment on their helpfulness in dealing with this older software?

Any help or suggestions will be most gratefully received!!

Hi Sarah, I can only comment on the Trusted Link portion of your dilemma. My experience with Inovis/Harbinger is that they don't want to talk to you unless you a) have a valid support agreement in place, and b) have the most recent version of the software. IF you are using Trusted Link for Windows, the product absolutely MUST be kept current as it uses MS Access databases for it's backend data management, and if those versions become obsolete due to Microsoft's newer versions (i.e. WIN 98 to Server 2000 or XP) then the databases will start to experience intermittent issues that will eventually grind your system to a halt. Hope this helps...

Rod, thanks for the tip! I have put in an enquiry to Inovis, so it will be interesting to see what they say. I'm not too concerned about DAO changes, as it is unlikely the server will be upgraded in the near future (and in the longer term we probably will move to another solution).

Hi, I was one of the original designers and developers of Power.Enterprise (which incorporated Power.Map). This product was pretty much shelved when Inovis adopted the Harbinger portion of Peregrine.

Power.Enterprise was fairly sophisticated for its time, pity it died due to bad marketing.
