I have a Presario 700 running XP w/ 512MB RAM. Everytime I want to power on my computer I first have to remove the power adapter, completely remove the battery, put the battery back in, and then plug back in the adapter. XP startup is SO VERY SLOW. Also, my computer screen will lock up randomly (sometimes after 10 minutes - sometimes after 8 hours). When it does this, I can not do anything except remove the battery in order to restart. I can't use Cntrl+Alt+Del or hold the Power button. I took it in for repairs under warranty when it first began doing this -it was locking up every 10 minutes. It still happens - just less frequently. Can anyone help?

If the computer came loaded with XP and it is still having problems send it back and tell them you want it fixed right or a new computer. (it might work)
