Power failure - outgoing messages

Unless you had something similar to an APC Smart-UPS for your battery backup your Exchange likely went down dirty.
I had a similar issuewhen I had to kill the power without shutting down the Exchange services first. I resolved it by stopping all services in the required order and then hard booting the server.
