We have just had a power cut on our site. I had time to close all servers in a controlled way thanks to lots of UPS's.

All servers have come backup except one which starts to boot - checks the RAM - Finds the SCSI Controller - Finds the Single 9GB SCSI HDD - Displays the OS load in progress... meessage and then displays "Insert bootable media in the appropriate drive".

Please can someone advise what has gone wrong.

Thanks

Richard

Fried hard drive. Doesn't sound like it is spinning up properly.

Assuming you have the BIOS set correctly, can you floppy boot and see the system partition? I'd guess you can't.

REALLY hope you have a good backup!

Zel
