I am planning an install of a CICS 6.1 (4x16) with a CP100 and one external ATA-2.

There will be 10 ~ 12 extensions on the system.

I am planning to plug the unit into a UPS for backup during a blackout.

I would like to get 3 ~ 5 hours backup time. This tends to be the normal black-out time frame in the sticks.

I know the whole set-up will draw only an amp or two, so I am thinking a 1500VA UPS would do the trick, but not sure.

Any suggestions on what has been used and what will work?

Thanks!

There is an FAQ on power consumption do the math to find out your power condumption for your install. 1500 VA will give you 1500 Watts for 1 one hour, 500 watts for 3 hours, 300 watts for 5 hours.

Don't forget to make sure any telco equipment is on UPS... My whole data room was running beautifully last week on UPS power, meanwhile my ****** ISP's UPS lasted approximately 3 seconds........

Liebert GXT2U is an excellent product to consider
