POTs to FIOS Pots problem

I have a customer with an Ip office 8.1(69) running basic edition.

Recently they upgrade their internet (DSL) and phone lines (POTS) to FIOS internet and the POTS lines coming in over the FIOS.

Now they have a line issue where someone calls in and then hangs up, but the system never hangs up the line.

You have to either unplug the line from the port or reboot the system.

Any ideas on a fix?

FiOS doesn't have disconnect supervision enabled. Have carrier enable to make the trouble go away.
 
Thanks for the info. We had a customer with the same problem. The carrier said it was our problem.

I ran into the same issue with TWC. Many vendor meets and they finally replaced the modem, problem fixed. TWC claimed they could not adjust the disconnect time.
 
Verizon also said it was our system that was the problem. I argued it was not. Looks like a lot of us are in the same boat it. Its going to take some force to get VZ to fix this issue.

I'll update everyone if we get it resolved.
 
tell them to fix it or else they will loose your business, that seems to motivate them when it comes to lost revenue!

 
If you have a test set or single line phone there is a simple way to test and confirm this. Disconnect the line from the IPO and connect to your set. Call the number and answer the line. Hang up from the phone you called in from. If you are getting Loop Start disconnect you will hear a distinct double click. If the line goes straight to dial tone or busy then you are not getting disconnect. It is kind of an expensive fix but sandman.com has a device that can listen for dial tone or busy tone then disconnect the line. I would fight hard with the service provider though. This is something that is standard and you can't be the only one in the same boat.

The industry standard in the United States is to interrupt the loop current for 600ms (I have seen longer too) upon disconnect. ~ Mike
 
The IP office will listen for busy/diconnect tone if configured to do so, not sure about muppet/basic mode though, as that's not really an IP Office :)
