postfix sasl rejecting password

My server has been running fine until today. Without any changes being made, postfix is now refusing to relay mail. I have set up SASL properly, but now, when a windows user with Outlook 2k trys to send an email, the program will just keep asking for a username and password.

If they hit cancel, they'll get the error number 0c800ccc60, and all my logs show are SASL auth failed messages.

Any ideas where to start looking?
