I recently set up a new mail server and thought it would be great if I could edit my old postfix server's virtual aliases on a user by user basis and have them forward incoming mail to the new mail server (I'm not concerned about old mail).

I did some testing and was able to get messages to be passed to the new server by entering them in mysql like this:

ALIAS DESTINATION
user@domain.com user@domain.com@otherserver.internaldomain

the mail is received at the new server with the @otherserver.internaldomain in tow which then is relayed back to the original server resulting in "too many hops".

I was hoping to come up with a way to have them received at the new server with only the correct domain so that they are accepted as they would had they been sent directly. Please let me know if I am going about this the wrong way. I'm not picky about the method as long as I can move them one by one without too much pain.

Thanks.
