I have a spam checker server running postfix and spamassassin. It relays fine to all domain names, and it used to work for spam checking single mailboxes, but now it is broken and cannot deliver local mail.
I used to send mail from other servers to username@posfixhost.domain.tld and send it back via username@mailboxhost.domain.tld. This would spam check it and send it to the user's mailbox. Also we used to send mail to spamassassin's learning mode by sending spam to spam@postfixhost.domain.tld.
Both of these facilities are now broken. Mail stays in the active queue after being spam checked.
The normal function of the server is just fine. If we send all mail to it via MX record for a particular domain it is spam checked and delivered to the destination host that holds the mailboxes.
It seems that only those functions that depend on local delivery are effected.
The only changes we made and they did not seem to be simultaneous are 1) add a relay_recipients table and 2) change the IP address of the main NIC and the associated DNS records.
Any suggestions I should be looking for or what information you folks need to help, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Charles
