Hi,
First off I'm Unix-mail ignorant, I want to learn but haven't had time lately. So this question is probably pretty basic

I want to put a Linux SMTP forwader/proxy in front of our MS Exchange server. We have something doing that now but want to replace it. Is Postfix (with smtp) able to do this? Is it possible to add basic spamblocking to PF as well? Thanks for any help,
vern

Linux, Postfix and SpamAssassin will work for you.

Hey verland,

I've got exactly the sort of setup your looking at. Postfix is running and I'm working on Spam Assassin now but to start with you can add open relay and spam blacklist lookups into the postfix main.cf file.

Works like a dream. The Spam blacklists our box looks at are

relays.ordb.org
sbl.spamhaus.org
proxies.relays.monkeys.com
opm.blitzed.org

Hope this helps
