Hi guys,
I have 2 problems.
1. when POST begins, it took 3 minutes just to recognize my DVD Rom and CD burner. After that, it goes successfully to Windows. Can I shorten the POST time? I noticed this happens right after I change the computer case and video card (from 64MB to 128MB). Is there anything to do with the case or video card?
2. I recently tried to install Red Hat 9 to my PC, with dual boot in my mind. During the installation process, the PC speaker was beeping non-stop and the installation just froze. I couldn't even move the mouse cursor from the screen. I restarted it and tried again 5 times. The same thing occurs. Why does this happens?

Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

first of all when doing major changes (gfx card) it is best to clear the CMOS, then load the default settings, disarm the AntiVirus thingy in the Standard CMOS setup... double check the HD and CDROM settings under the Standard CMOS setup... then Exit and Save...

take a look at the IDE cables and powercables to the drives, you could have knocked them loose...

If it works don't fix it! If it doesn't use a sledgehammer...
