To install CallManager on a generic PC. FOR LAB or TRAINING PURPOSES ONLY.
PC is recommended to be a P3-700 with 512M memory minimum for performance. I have a Athlon 700 with 394M RAM running
in my lab. The Registry edits 'fool' CallManager as to machine type and installed memory.
Do these steps IN ORDER. To change the order will make the installation fail.
1. Install Windows 2000 server. The only addition to base install is add SNMP.
2. Import Registry edits. HWCHECK.REG and OSCHECK.REG Just double click on the file and it will import.
3. Add Win2000 server Service Pack 3
4. Add Internet Explorer 6.0 SP 1
4a.Set IP address
5. Install CallManager 3.3.3. Use the New Installation and Recovery Disk #2. Do not use any other disks. Do not try to install CCM 4.0. It will not install on this version of Windows. CCM must be installed before the OS is upgraded or IIS will be broken for CCM User pages and IP phone services.
6. Install win-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-2-5sr7.exe.
7. Install MS SQL Service Pack 3.0
8. Install win-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-2-6.exe
9. Install win-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-2-6sr8.exe or later. Optional, CCM 4.0 only looks for 2000-2-6 base.
10. If you wish to upgrade Call Manager to a newer version, you can do so now. I am running 4.02sr2a with no apparent problems.

Could i also apply additional Operation System updates as nescessary?
Yes. I put that in since this is for a Lab or training system, not a production system. The OS updates generally deal with Microsoft security problems which shouldn't be an issue in the Lab. The SQL pathces and CCM SR's are more necessary as they deal with bugs.
