Hi hi!

Im having major problems with fonts. It goes like this:

I have my fonts in suitcase. They appear to be group, ei. gill sans. Within that groups there are truetype and postscript fonts. If gill sans is activated both tt and ps fonts within the group are activated.

When I go into InDesign, gill sans is split into two. One is gillsans (T1) and the other gillsans (TT). Im assuming the T1 is ps and TT is truetype. But problem with this is that the family is split also. ei in T1 i get only gillsans light. and the rest of the family is on TT.

The most weird is that if I start a document and use all font in TT, after a while it says the font is missing, by this meaning it is not gillsans TT any longer its T1.

Ive tried many things. Reinstalling, restarting. moving fonts into other fonts folder within my HD, and nothing seems to work. I dont know if its my HD, suitcase or InDesign programs. I am the only one in the office to get this problem though... But i have noticed that suitcase works different in the other computers. Its hard to say because everyone has a different mac OS.

Here is mine confing:
Mac OSX 10.3.9
Suitcase 11 version 11.0.2E
InDesign 3.0.1

Does anyone have the same problem?
Or knows how to get it fixed? and what caused this?

Thank you :)
frustrated mac user

Yes. Macs use system fonts in 4 different locations.
these ".dfont" files are Truetype style fonts.
Check to make sure you have the preference clicked in Suitcase "Override system fonts"
Launch your file in InDesign, and see if the application takes the GillSans that is loaded into Suitcase.
Otherwise, remove the GillSans fonts from your system font locations.

One glitchy deal with InDesign is if you load fonts into Suitcase while indesign is open, sometimes the program does not recognize the fonts you have loaded.
Just go back to Suitcase and deactivate and reactivate one or two of the suitcases. This jump starts InDesign to recognizing newly loaded fonts.
Hope it helps.
