If the server on the network is sending using SMTP, no. If you can change the way it sends mail so that it uses MAPI (which actually connects to the mailbox when sending mail), then it would work. But it would require a programming change and either the MAPI/CDO tools or Outlook running on the sending server.

It might be better to create a transport rule that watches for messages sent by test@domain.com and CC:'s them to the test@domain.com mailbox. Then create a server-side rule on that mailbox so that if a message from test@domain.com comes in, it automatically moves it to the Sent Items folder. That would allow you to continue to use SMTP and would only take 20 minutes or so to set up and test.
