Hello,

I'm new with OpenText livelink and was creating a workflow.
When I was running the workflow, I wanted to add some documents in the workflow attachment folder by clicking on "Copy item from livelink". I had to click multiple times to get the correct folder.

My question: Is it possible to define already a start folder when developing a workflow, so the user doesn't have to click several times to get the correct folder/file?

Thanks,

Matthias

if you have only out of the box livelink workflow then most of the "automagic" happens by clever design.for eg,if the WF designer knows before hand the location of the document,s(h)e can put this existing folder/document as a Item reference and expose it as a workflow attribute(WF design 3 course book ).Several add on packages like XML WF Extensions,GCI Workflow tools, wisteria tools etc. Also using oscript one of the most easiest methods are stuff that is called "event Scripting" which allows the wf designer/coder to code most of it so it takes lesser guessing of the actual step performer

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

Thx for the answer.

But I don't think it solves my problem.
I only want to define the start folder, when selecting a file, item reference, ...
But I understand that it would be custom development of livelink.

MatthiasBE, you are correct that it would be a customisation, depending on your requirement it could be a simple and crude weblingo change or something more elegant like the solution appnair recommends.
