hi experts,

Outlook 2000 on a Windows 2000 Server.

I need to send an email to 2 people each day at 8am.

The purpose is so they will know that email is working that day. (We send out hundreds of automated emails from this server and if one contains an invalid TO address, Outlook stops sending)

So, if these 2 managers receive this scheduled email, they will know that, at least at that time, no emails are hung-up in the Outbox because of a bad To address.

I thought about using Outlook Tasks, which does work, but then these Tasks accumulate as 'unfinished Tasks' and it looks messy. (These are managers and they dont want to see that)

Is it possible to schedule a recurring email that would always have the same message and the same recipients ?

Thanks, John

You could write a script to do the emailing, and use task scheduler to run it when you want. You can check out these threads:

Or, do a search for "Outlook" in this forum:
Good luck! Let us know your results!

You can manually schedule mail to be sent at 8:00 am each day. You would have to make up a separate mail for each day. But you don't have to remember to do it the day before. You can do a bunch of them well in advance, specifying a separate date for each email.

Open a new email, select Options in the Send Toolbar then check the Do not deliver before box. Select a date from the calendar then manually change the time to 8:00 AM. Just repeat this, selecting the next day (date) for the next mail, etc.

It's not as convenient as having it done automatically but the result should be what you want.
