Possible to rename an OS file in 8i PL/SQL?

I suspect that this is not possible to do in 8i, but I thought I'd check just in case. I have a scenario where I need to rename an operating system file from within a PL/SQL package; is this possible? I know UTL_FILE has been updated in more reecent versions to include an FRENAME function, but it doesn't appear to be available in 8i.

FRENAME is not available in 8i.
