Hi folks,

I need to install some software on an old maschine.
Problem is that we can't find filesets anymore.
But there is a second machine having the same software installed (via smitty install).

Is there any way to grab the necessary files from that machine and to install them onto the other machine ?

Regards
Thomas

hi ,

where are the files ?

you can try doing mksysb of everything on node1 restore on node 2 .

Are the files executables ,& scripts , you can try copying them over , to list the files that belong to the fileset run
lslpp -f fileset

copy these over , set your path etcc.. and try running it
but you may come across problems if some C executable code was compiled under a different server with different CPU revisions ( it depends how the code works) and may not work on the other server ( re-compile is the only option) , but give it a go ?
