Possible to have AA on Shared Line Appearances? 1

Instrument: 7965

Is it possible to make Auto-Answer work on 2 or more instruments with a common number (shared line appearance)? Would it work if privacy were released?

As tested it seems that the lines auto answer alternatively, 1st on one instrument, the next time on the other. I'd like to have them both go off hook, as in a broadcast call.

Phone paging, broadcasts, intercoms one to many, or any similar feature requires third party products.
If you are on version 8.6 and above and have a current ESW support contract, cisco offers the Informacast product for free. Unlimited groups up to 50 users per group. More than 50 or addtl features, phone text, 911 notification, etc, requires licensing.

Thanks!!! Appreciate the tip. Had hoped it wouldn't take 3rd party, but nice that it's at least offered for free. Also don'tneed it right this minute, but good to know it's available. We're doing E911 notification using an application from Amcomm and their passive monitoring (1-way audio bridge to monitor the call in progress) is limited to 8 parties. I forsee some of the "ME-TOO" folks thinking they need it too and pressuring us for 2 or 3 addt'l monitor points.

Absent this option from Informacast I was going to bounce the call back through one of my Mitel's and build a paging group there then route it back to discrete numbers on the CUCM as a means to the same end.

you still won't be able to page the cisco phones with the mitel trick. The best you'll be able to do is ring them. You need a third party app to initiate the multicast stream to the phones. A TDM box does not have the ability to do that.
