I was curious about changing the retention periods on duplicated tapes without changing the originals. Is this possible? Since those dupes will be offsite, I'd like to change them to have a longer retention than the originals. I don't currently have vault. Please let me know if there's a way to do this. thanks.

I assume that all images on that tape are to be set at the same retention level?

If so:
netbackup\bin\admincmd\bpexpdate -m <media_id> -d mm/dd/yy - This will change the expiration date for all the images on the tape.

Note - When changing retentions for an entire tape, you cannot use a specific retention level as in 1,2,3 etc, You have to use a date of when you want the tape to expire.
