I am taking over the maintenance of a website, where the previous webperson used frontpage (and converted word documents). I access the website using both Dreamweaver and CuteFTP, and the documents located in their is NOT the same documents being displayed when you browse the site, nor are there any other folders except the ones I should be expecting. Is it possible Frontpage is redirecting the user to another place where the actual documents are stored (I didn't see anything in the source), or mybe the server itself is pointing to another directory?

Thanks in advance!

I used a webhost that did something like that. The files appeared in a couple of differnt places. Why, I do not know. But what I did was to insert a test.html file in a directory and typed that into my browser. When the test page came up instead of the 404 error I knew I had the correct directory.

Hope this helps.... The only dumb questions are the ones that are never asked

Actually, that was one of the first things I tried to see what was going on with the directories and site. I never did find my test HTML file. The person who runs the server has not returned any of my phone calls.

The word symbolic is exactly what they call it; a "symbolic link" Sort of a ghost directory. When the host contacts you have them remove the symbolic links. It's a unix thing DeZiner
