Hi there,

I am wondering if there is anyone who has seen or experienced the problem I've been having. We have LL front-end servers that have been showing gradual memory increases on llserver.exe process along with dllhost.exe process on all of our LL servers. We have a separate index and a db server. Over a period of like 3 weeks, we need to reboot the servers to clear the memory problems.

We are running the version 9.1 SP2 and using llisapi.dll exclusively on Windows 2000 Server SP4.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

From what we once been told, it seems this is almost normal. What they told us is that LL could use an awful lot of memory for page caching (and probably other caching mechanisms). What seems less normal is to NEED to reboot. But, when you say you "need to reboot", do you mean that the server hung or simply that you thought the memory usage was too high?

While we're at it, you normally could also simply restart the LL service.

We reboot the servers because they ended up using way above the physical memory not because the systems became unresponsive. I heard that the LL Version 9.1 SP4 and above addressed some of these issues. Is that correct?

Thanks.
