I have gotton emails before where it looks like the person it is from is also the person the email was sent to, but obviously it was sent to me.
Simply put the from field is the same as the to field.

Does this mean the sender set up a distribution list and named it the same as his/her name and i happened to be on it
or
is there a way to make all emails i send look like (to the receipient) that i sent it to myself, inessence hiding who it was sent to.

Thanks

It could mean they put their self in the send to. Then blind carbon copied everyone else! That is one way to send e-mail without everyone being able to print the e-mail to get your e-mail address.

Good point! A word of caution...

When you create a distribution list and use that to send out an e-mail to multiple recipients, you only have to put the name of the list in the To: field, but the recipients see the list members when they receive the message, not the list name. A word of caution: the To: list in the recipients' message will contain the Display Name of each person to which the message was addressed, so use caution when creating these aliases. You might not want to publish the nickname that you have for your friends or co-workers for everyone on the distribution list to see!!

Right now, you occupy a point where three lines reach across the expanse of time and space and intersect only there, and that you and only you possess.
