MICS 7.0 - 32 current lines(I think)
CP 100
Phone T7316e

Gentlemen,
Curious what all information I will need to provide other than the above to answer this question but hopefully this isnt too much of a pain to answer.

I believe we currently have 32 total lines to be used for all facets of the calling system. We are down to 1 or 2 open exts and planning on work on a new 5 or 6 person office section. My main question is, can we add an additional card to this, if so what kind/model, or are we going to have to buy another system and link the two?

Unsure of what else you may need as far as specs or current hardware but please just ask and I will try and provide. We had a quote from our "local" phone supplier who initially installed the system and I believe it was in the 2k park.

Often people refer exts or jack/cable as lines.

Do you need phone lines (3's from your carrier) or phone ports (to activate jacks)?.

You didn't list all the equipment on the wall, list it all to better assist and include software version too when posting.

Allow me to rephrase, ports for internal distribution no physical outside lines.
Thanks for adding the CP version, forgot to add to this post but luckily it was in one of my older ones...

Heading down to the telco box and will report back anything extra I can.
Thank you for the assistance.

you will need a fiber expansion card (you may already have one in the cabinet) and a 0x16 station module to provide 16 telephone station ports, plus telephones. Also installation, programming etc and some 'know how'.

Go with your local vendor.

Well we already have a 25 pair cable running to were were are going and I know how to program it for the most part.
Is there a max number of ports that this MICS 7.0 can handle? We have 32 ports so far.

On the KSU/backplane we have two GATC2 CLID cards taking up the two righthand ports. Assuming the logic board is similar on these models, there are a total of 4 ports you can plug cards into. The lefthand two logic board ports look to be about 48 pin ports and the two the CLIDs are plugged into are about 24 pin. What cards can go into the open ports and can that help me in extending the overall number of usable ports for internal distribution of extensions?

(I think this is clear but in case, the use of PORT when talking about the logic board on the KSU is the physically connector for the card to fit in. PORT used when talking of expansion is for the addition of extensions that the MICS can pass out via its new ports.)

Outside of the KSU and VM box, there isnt anything else really attached to this system. We do have a Paging system connected to external speakers but that wont come into play when discussing the port extensions.

So if I am following this correctly, the 2 port fiber card will mount in the KSU cabinet, connecting to the 0X16 module which will live outside of the KSU which is connected to the 25pr for distribution to said locations.
Is there anything that needs to be done as far as Voice Mail is concerned or is it just going to be configuring the CP to see the newly added ports?

2 port fiber exp card = NTBB02GA-93
0X16 fiber Station module = NTBB41FB-93

Correct expect that the CP has absolutely nothing to do with this, its the KSU and only thing that needs to see the 0X16.

The only thing you will find when you plug in the expansion card and station module, is there will be a gap in extension numbers (32 to be precise). This is normal because this is an upgrade not a reinstall.

They are 3 digit, but good heads up.

Thanks for the pointer Allworx, I would have thought something was amiss.

There should not be a gap in extensions.
main ksu 221-252
1st 16 port expansion 253-268

This is of course assuming you started at ext 221 when it was installed.
