poss. to pass an XL cell value to a SQL query?

Excuse me but I'm not 100% sure of the question I'm trying to ask (as asking for someone else) but is it possible in some way to pass a value from Excel to a query in Oracle? I think they want to drive the query from within Excel.

If they want to drive the query from within Excel you can use MS Query.
