Firstly, How can a POSIX and a SOLARIS thread related function be distinguished by their names?

Secondly, When 2 new POSIX Threads are created that are almost identical. What things would differ?

Thirdly, What is the defauly stack size and how can the default stack size be changed?

Posix thread routines begin with pthread_, Solaris thread routines begin with thr_.

When threads are created, the pthread_t return value is different.

The default stack size can be changed when constructing the thread. Have a look at the man page on pthread_create.
