Positouch Fatal Error 1000

Hey guys and gals, I have a tough one. Positouch 5.29, when launching Spcwin.exe at reading "punches", I get a FATAL ERROR 1000. I have seen this years ago, and thought it had something to do with user.sys being jacked up. I have replaced user.sys from a backup and even removed all the us*.inv files, but still no love, Spcwin will not launch. Ant ideas out there?
