position of the task bar in NT

Hi all,
every time i reboot my machine(NT4/SP6)the taskbar is positioned on the top of the screen. i don't know why this happens. is there anywhere a method to store the position of the taskbar? it simply makes me nervous to manually change the position and after the next reboot/restart to do this again, again ...
