Hello All,
I am in the process of purchasing a business (salon supplies and equipment) that has no pos system currently installed. Most equipment is invoiced through QuickBooks, but all of the supplies are simply rung up through a cash register. I've looked at Catapult and have talked to Microsoft about RMS, as well as been viewing the RetailStar dvd. The one issue I cannot work around is my eye sight. I was told by the Microsoft Certified Partner that there wasn't much he could do to change the font size or background colors (other than doing it through Windows.) The Catapult dealer said somethings could be changed, but he would have to look into some aspects that may or may not be able to be changed. I haven't talked to anyone about RetailStar yet, but plan to in the coming week.
I will not be the main person using the point-of-sale features, but will handle those duties for short periods almost daily (during employee breaks, etc.) I will be dealing mainly with the backoffice stuff (ordering, inventory, etc.) That part I can get comformtable with away from customers. At this point, if I can't find something more accessable, I'll probably go with Catapult. I had a demo of the unit and like it's overall features and the fact that the dealer, Delaware Business Systems, has been in business for about 20 years.
Any ideas on a solution that I can see without many drawbacks to speed, ease of use, etc? I appreciate any and all suggestions.
David
