We have a Micros till that decided it won't get past the "Initializing Database Connection" screen.

So google told me about someone having luck with renaming the MDShosts file, and getting that to reload. No luck for me.

Tried wiping out the entire Micros folder, no luck

Tried another Micros till we have sitting around. Loaded up that tills config through the Reconfigure CAL, new till also stuck at "Initializing Database Connection".

All of our other tills (17 others) are working fine.

Ideas? Options?

Bad network cable or switch? I assume it have tried pinging the host.

Tested in other location, and back in my office as well. Am able to ping the micros server, and other micros on the network. The system(s) are on my desk currently.

Has it worked before? Has anything been added? No ip conflicts?

Nothing has been added, no IP conflicts, and it was working when last used during our summer. Then was shut off for the last few months during our off season, but the winter season has started, and everything is back online.

go to the pos that is currently not working and look at the micros\res\pos\etc folder and if the mdshost file is not there copy it form a working unit restart the unit and see if it loads.
