Hello all, I need to find a program for a client/family friend who runs a mail order manufacturing business. It is very basic, all he needs is -- Packing slips printed -- invoices printed, and paid -- qty. discounts -- and some sort of backorder tracking. Everything else is done manually, shipping, accounting etc. A Purchase Order system would be helpful but is not required. He is running an old old novell based program that was written locally and is about to die. Its modules counters are maxxing out and the people who wrote the program are in nursing homes / deceased. Help! I have googled but not found anything that would work for under 20K

If the program is tailored to your needs and effective and bugg free then maybe you should deal with the man to buy the source code and try to direct it to another programmer.
Or easily call a programmer and let him make it in VB in 2 months maximum.
