Hi,
Could you please send me a complete check list that one would look for in a PoS system, in terms of functionality, technology, features etc, irrespective of which industry/busines line that the PoS will be used in.

I doubt you're going to get much of a response on this one. Even if such a document did exist, it's highly unlikely that you're going to find one that list all features, "irrespective of industry". A restaurants uses and needs (thus their features) are going to be much different than what a retail chain needs. And even within the restaurant industry itself, for example, there is table service, quick service/couter service, etc.... the needs of an Outback Steak House are going to be much different for KFC.

If you're a restaurantuer looking browsing for products, websites and live demos are a good way to start (aside from talking to other restaurant owners, of course). However, I assume you are a programmer looking to write some software, in which case you're going to need to team up with someone that has excellent knowledge of the specific industry you're looking to target. If I am wrong on both accounts, please be more specific, and we'll do our best to help!
