Hey POS Guru's!

I am trying to build a extraction plug-in that goes directly to a Aloha & Micros database and extracts files of interest. I'm doing this for a a client who wants a custom accounting solution for multiple restaraunts. I'm trying to build a real-time accounting software for the restaurant industry that pulls transaction details from the database in regular intervals: transaction data being item detail, timestamp, revenue, etc and regular pulls being more than just the daily grind file that's produced...probably every 15 minutes or so.

I guess I have two questions that I'm hoping you guys can answer for me

1. What is the best way to map Aloha & Micros databases and are there multiple versions / databases I need to be concerned with mapping?
2. Are there any people that have already done this and might be able to help us shorten the learning curve?

Thank you in advance for the help.
