The following link shows each of the ports that are active/inactive - and which can be changed with Netware 6. As many of you know, Netware 6 has many more features/options running than past versions of Netware. I thought it was a good reference, and may help you as well.

Port Matrix Netware 6

michigan,

Thanks for the tip - I've been wrestling (maybe) with ports lately. We recently upgraded to Netware6 but cannot get any of the web products to run. I have NSWEB running manually (started it after server reboot) and can get the default Enterprise Web Server page to come up on port 443. However, every other link I choose (iManager, iPrint, Remote, etc...) gives me a blank web page. I notice most are defaulting to port 2200 but nothing is happening.

Do you have an idea of what I may be missing? or how to determine exactly which products are installed/running? I've looked at the list of nlm's in Console monitor but see no mention specifically of Web Manager.

Thanks, gillis

Hi gillis -

I'm still new to many of the features of Netware 6 - and won't be able to help much. Honestly, I'm not sure I know everything thats running on my server . . . and I administer this thing! Scary!

Good Luck.

No problem - it was worth a shot; we're all at different stops on the learning curve...

Something I had found out was that the NOVONYX directory which is created by installing the Novell Enterprise Web Server, is NOT used in NetWare 6. Instead of the Novell porthandler we used in 5.1, version 6 wants you to use the Tommcat33 engin. IF YOU DO USE THE NVXADMUP you will create a dual port delema and will not beable to use port 80.

I struggled with this for several days while my WebAccess was inoperable except for port 443. If you intend to use WebAccess, then you DO need to install the Novell Enterprise Web server directory ONLY because it contains all the files and directories which give you the WebAccess pages. Just configure the .conf files within the Tommcat33 directory and load this engin inplace of the Novell.

Give it a try.

Worked for Me.
